Took the Shinkansen "Bullet Train" from the Shinagawa Station in Tokyo to the Kyoto Station. A trip covering 290 miles in just 2 hours. Maximum speed clocked... 180mph.
Checked into my "capsule hotel" then took a walk around central Kyoto and through the Nishiki Market.
